As she grows close to the spirits in the ghost world, a driven Maddie begins to unravel the events surrounding her death, only to discover someone other than Xavier may have been involved.

A relentless Sandra is desperate to know her daughters fate, as Janet in Maddie's body wreaks havoc in the living world. Simon and friends search for Janet/Maddie in an unlikely place, as the ghosts decode Janet's past.

Janet/Maddie returns home to a shocked and relieved Sandra. The ghosts discover the objects from their deaths unlock hidden spaces. A mandatory school event uncovers tension between the living kids who are more concerned about Janet's return.
